BIG DEAL turns the gaze toward the large male body, which throughout the history of visual culture has been pushed beyond the boundaries of the “beautiful” .
This series presents portraits of beautiful men, rounded, yet unmistakably masculine. Presented with directness, presence, and unapologetic force, these images place the male body at the very center of the stage.
Through the lenses of myself and architect Ron Tobi Sabag, we restore to the large male body what has long been denied: visibility, dignity, and centrality.
For the participants, the process went far beyond documentation. It became a transformative ritual of self-recognition. Within the camera’s generous, non-judgmental space, they encountered a gaze both loving and restorative. For some, it was the first time their body was rendered as an aesthetic of fullness, pride, and power.
Here, masculine abundance is no longer an anomaly—it is the heart of the scene. This is beauty unbound by convention: a new visual language of desire, reverence, and presence for the large male body, now firmly placed at the center
